Every project is different, so there are four ways to work together. Larger gardens are built with trusted landscaping teams; planting projects I carry out myself. Each starts with a free conversation.

For those ready to rethink the whole garden. I design the layout, materials, planting and lighting together, so the garden works as one journey through spaces, each with its own mood. I then stay involved through the build, working with trusted hard landscaping teams to bring the design to life.

Detail matters when creating borders that are beautiful all year. I select and position every plant for your soil, aspect, light and exposure, so new or tired borders delight for years to come.

The complete service, from start to finish. I design the planting, source every plant, prepare the ground and plant it myself, then support the garden as it establishes. One person, one point of contact, and the same care at every stage.

Costs

What will my garden cost?

It’s one of the first questions people ask, and one of the hardest to answer without seeing the garden. Size matters, but so does complexity: slopes and changes of level, access for materials, the condition of the soil and what you’d like from the space.

A planting refresh and a full transformation are both worthwhile. They’re simply different scales of project. As a guide, this is what projects typically cost overall.

Design, plants and planting for new or existing borders where the hard landscaping is in good shape. Costs depend on plant sizes and the mix of perennials, grasses, shrubs and trees.

Garden transformations[£X] – [£Y]

A full redesign of a typical garden: design, hard landscaping, materials, planting and lighting. Most family gardens fall within this range.

Larger gardens[£X]+

Larger or more complex sites with several areas, level changes and a longer build, delivered with trusted local landscapers and specialists.

My design fee

I charge fixed fees, not hourly rates, so you’ll know exactly what you’re paying before work begins. My fee is always proportionate to the project.

The design fee covers the thinking and planning: consultation, survey, concept, developed design and planting plan. The build (materials, labour and plants) is separate. On larger gardens I work with trusted hard landscaping teams and stay involved throughout, so the finished garden matches the design.
